Post 9-Internship Final Reflection

In the beginning of internship, my goal was to learn anything I could because this was my first job. After all, this was my first time teaching kid and I had no experience with that. Also, my English is not very good. Sometimes the teacher in the class talked about a subject I didn’t understand and when the kids asked me about that topic, I didn’t know how to help them. This was difficult to overcome. One goal I had was to communicate better with students and I did accomplish this goal. From my internship I learned a lot about the Tribe’s learning community. I learned how to respect one another and share something.
I think my most memorable moments were with the kids when we played.  They had fun and they were cute and one thing is when it was a kid’s birthday, they had a small party. Their parents would bring some small cakes to share with the kids and sing the birthday song. It was very interesting. In my internship the biggest challenge I had to overcome with the kids was communication. Sometimes they asked me questions but I didn’t know, so I asked the teacher. If I were is start a brand new internship next week, I would try to do a different job like being with nurses at a hospital. I want to get more experience. I will miss when playing with the kids.

Post 7 - Thank You Letter

May 29, 2012

Dear Ms. Madison,

Thank you so much for being a great supervisor. I really enjoyed working with you and your students.  At the beginning, the kids were strangers to me and I did not know who was who and I felt very nervous.  I didn’t know what to do or what to say and they asked me, “Who are you and why are you here?” After being there for a few days, we all began to know each other and they were very polite and kind. I liked them very them.

From you, I learned a lot of knowledge about the Tribes’ learning community.  I learned how to respect one other and share something.  When I played with the kids they had fun and they were always very cute. Through this internship and all your support, I gained so much experience.  This was my first ever experience being a teaching assistant and I appreciate all your help.

Sincerely,

Xiaona Tang

Post 4 - Midpoint Reflection

In my internship is school, at my primary mission is when they need help to help them, my job just watching them to class, also my internship workplace enviroment convironment compared to IHSL's school environment is similar, because also is in the school too, learning and study, but the different their is for primary school, small grade students, kindergarten throught third grade. I thought my internship I learned a lot of kids learning for the a tribes learning community, for example they are Mutual respect, right to pass, Safety-body and heart. At the communication skills I can communicate with kids to improve my English, because they speak English is easier to speak and easy to learn. But most challenge is when the kids talk to me, but sometime I don't understand. My internship schedule sometime will be affected me, because I get early to left school, so same classwork not following and did not finish. I think in my internship I learn many useful things for me, has been some experience to help me.
